Have u guys been to Onaka @ARC?
Sounded like a Japanese name? No, ONAKA is a short for Optimum Nutrition And Kitchen Arts.
Started in 2008, the concept of Onaka was conceived from the owner's passion to nurture he family and friends with the best, nutritionally balanced and delicious wholesome food in a world that has gone artificial and highly processed.
The new restaurant's specialty is Conscious Cuisine, a merging of Asian culinary cultures and traditions with modern Western influence, using only wholesome and selective organic ingredients.
Why Conscious Cuisine?
The concept of Conscious Cuisine is to encourage the guest to become conscious or mindful of food. It is essentially the art of taking notice and enjoying the unique aroma, flavour, texture, taste, selection of the ingredients, presentation of food and understanding of it nutritional health benefits. Not counting the calories, but instead advocate a realistic, sensible and pragmatic approach- "Eat Consciously; Live Mindfully" which they hope to inspire their customers to eating in balance and moderation. At Onaka, they promote Low Glycemic food and use only whole grains, which they adopt a "No White Bread, No White Rice and No White Sugar" policy.
